Membership in the Lodge

Do you want to make a difference in your community?

Do you have skills or experience that can be used for volunteer service?

Do you want to enjoy a social network of friendship and fun while helping others?

Everyone has their own reasons for joining the Elks, whether they're looking for a way to give back to the community or just want a friendly place to meet new people. We welcome anyone who is interested to get in touch with us or drop by the Lounge and discuss what it means to be a member of the Lodge.

Besides the friendships and camaraderie, the sense of helping your community here in Okotoks, and the links to a strong history, becoming an Elk means that you will also be welcomed in the many clubs throughout Canada and the USA. Many American clubs also have campgrounds for RV-ers and also often have a lounge or restaurant where you can go for food and drink, and for entertainment while away from home.

What is the Elks Membership process?

All applicants for membership must complete a membership application form and be proposed by a member in good standing at a regular meeting of the Lodge. Once the Lodge Secretary informs the Lodge that the applicant has paid all necessary dues and fees, a ballot upon the admission of the candidate is taken.

If approved, a date for an initiation is set. Once initiated by the use of a special and meaningful ceremony, the member is equally entitled to every privilege of membership.
